Stacey Green, RN - Lead Nurse & Birth Assistant
“Stacey passionately feels that people deserve to be cared for, in any situation. Birthing a tiny human is a life-altering experience, and it deserves the utmost respect. She remembers every second of her birth at BRBC, and wishes that for any parent-to-be. Being a nurse for almost 20 years in women’s healthcare has given Stacey the confidence to give her clients love, strength, power, and trust in their own birth experience.”
Stacey was born and raised in a smaller, rural community in Bureau County IL; where family and friends are everything and fried chicken is a staple of every restaurant, tavern and supper club. She always knew she wanted to work as a nurse, especially with tiny humans. After graduating nursing school at age 21, Stacey began working at the local community hospital in the Obstetrics Department. That is where Stacey gives all her credit for the nurse she is today. And this is where midwifery became a part of her everyday nursing practice. The nurses and midwives guided her passion and love for women’s care, and she will forever be grateful.
After working for almost 8 years with her midwives and nursing friends, Stacey decided to spread her wings and leave her small town. She became a travel nurse, working in California for a year, before returning back home to be with her soon-to-be husband. Stacey continued on her nursing journey in labor/delivery as a clinical coordinator/charge RN, working at a couple more hospitals, gaining knowledge and nursing experience; but still greatly missing the midwifery philosophy of client autonomy, evidence-based practice, and education.
Stacey and her husband then endured a 6 year infertility journey, and every emotion was felt. Thankfully, she was blessed with 2 beautiful daughters, which led her to become a client of Burr Ridge Birth Center. When seeking prenatal care, she only wanted what was best; and best meant midwifery care - how she was born and raised.
Stacey and her husband Matt reside in Plainfield with their daughters Aurora (6) and Karleigh (2). They have a love for Walt Disney World and vacation there every other year. Free time is mainly devoted to her family and children; going to trampoline parks, swimming, splash pads, and play dates. But Stacey always makes room for her many friends and is always up for grabbing lunch and coffee.
