Christie Kohnhorst, RN - Birth Assistant
Christie is a Birth Assistant/ RN who supports clients by providing compassionate, individualized care during their pregnancy and birth journey. Christie believes in making every person feel comfortable and heard, keeping in mind the unique experiences each client brings. She strives to ensure that every family feels respected and supported, whether they are newcomers to birth or have past experiences that shape their expectations.
Christie has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and an Associate's degree in Nursing from Joliet Junior College (JJC). She has always felt a calling to be part of the birth community, a passion she developed early in nursing school. Christie is excited to work with a team that shares her commitment to providing compassionate and evidence-based care, and she feels incredibly grateful to be in this role at BRBC, which aligns perfectly with her values and goals.
When Christie is not working, she can be found enjoying time outdoors with her husband and three boys, hiking, riding bikes, or playing sports. As a family, they love spending time together and being active. Christie is also passionate about continuing her professional growth in the birth care community and looks forward to furthering her expertise in the field.
